1. Who this covers
This policy is for paid PediCheck membership bought on pedicheck.co.za through Paystack. It sits with our Terms of Use. If they clash on a money question, this page wins.
It does not cover:
- the waitlist (free, no card);
- Raising Atlantic (a PediCheck product that stays free and is not part of the PediCheck subscription);
- an after-hours paediatric consultation, if you later buy one — those terms will be shown at checkout before you pay.
PediCheck Pty Ltd (“PediCheck”, “we”) is a South African company, registration 2026/667018/07. Address: Granger Bay Court, 49 Beach Road, Mouille Point, Cape Town. Contact:
2. What you pay
PediCheck membership is billed in South African rand:
- R99 every month; or
- R899 every year.
You choose the period when you subscribe. Paystack charges your card. We do not store full card numbers on PediCheck servers.
Founding parents (waitlist parents we marked as founding) get 60 days of PediCheck with no card. There is nothing to refund for that trial. When it ends, PediCheck stays locked until you subscribe, unless we say otherwise.
3. How to cancel
You may cancel at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
- In your parent account on the subscribe page, use Cancel membership; or
- Ask us in writing using the contact image above, from the email on the account.
We also cancel if you ask a PediCheck staff member who can see your account.
When we process a cancellation, further Paystack charges stop. Access to paid PediCheck tools ends at that point. If you are still inside a founding trial, that trial is not taken away. Raising Atlantic stays available.
A failed charge locks PediCheck until the card works or you cancel. We do not keep charging a dead card to punish you; we stop access until payment succeeds.
4. When we refund
A refund, if we issue one, goes back to the original payment method through Paystack. Banks often take five to ten business days to show it.
We refund
- a charge we took in error, or a duplicate charge;
- your first paid PediCheck charge, if you ask us to cancel within seven days of that payment (cooling-off under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, without limiting any other right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008);
- any amount the law says we must return.
We do not refund, as a rule
- unused days in a month or year after the seven-day window, if you cancel because you no longer want the membership;
- Raising Atlantic or waitlist sign-up — there is no fee;
- the founding trial — there is no fee.
If something went wrong on our side (you paid and could not use PediCheck because of a fault we caused), write to us. We will put it right, which may include a refund or extra time, depending on what happened.
5. How to ask for a refund
Write to us using the contact image on this page. Include:
- the email on the parent account;
- the date and amount you were charged;
- why you want the money back.
We aim to answer within five business days. Please contact us before opening a Paystack or bank dispute. Chargebacks for a subscription you used, after the cooling-off window, may still be declined.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. The version on pedicheck.co.za when you pay is the one that applies to that payment, except where the law gives you a stronger right.
7. Law
South African law governs this policy, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Nothing here takes away a right you cannot sign away.
